![]() New Senior Try Rowing CourseSt Neots Rowing Club is organising a Senior Try Rowing Course, aimed at men and women aged 18 and over. The 10-week course will take place on consecutive Saturday afternoons, between 4 and 5.30, starting on 5 April with the last session on 7 June. There will be a cost of £50 for the course, which will be offset against the £160 annual rowing membership for those who decide to become a full rowing member. This cost provides you with insurance and helps towards coaching and equipment costs. During this 10-week course you will be shown the club facilities, receive a safety briefing, be shown how to use an indoor rowing machine (ergo) correctly, learn some rowing and boat terminology (catch, finish, tap down, riggers, gates etc!), and actually get time on the water. You will be able to use some fun virus boats, moving on to forming crews in the larger boats. At the end of which we hope you will be completely hooked and not want to stop! You will feel fitter, be physically and mentally challenged and will be able to impress family and friends with your new interest. Ideally you will be a confident swimmer, although we can provide life jackets if necessary. So if you would like to take this offer up please email Alison Brown, Club Captain, at captain@stneotsrc.co.uk by 31 March so that we can ascertain numbers. We look forward to meeting you. |
