Are you interested in learning to row?
The club runs separate courses throughout the year for both juniors and seniors who are interested in trying the sport. Both of the learn to row courses begin with a dry start stage — training on rowing machines, then progressing onto a wet start stage where attendees will have the opportunity get out on the water.
Our next is a learn to row course for juniors (aged 13 and over) which consists of five mornings during the summer holiday, 9am to 12.30pm starting 31 July until Friday 4 August. The aims of the course include learning the basic stroke to move the boat on the water, manoeuvring and handling the boat and keeping safe on the water. You will have opportunities to learn how to use the indoor rowing machine and have some experience of different types of boat – e.g. a training scull, a rowing four and perhaps an eight.
How to apply
The cost of the course £80 and candidates should be confident swimmers (able to swim 100m continuously in light clothing) Please register your interest with the Junior coordinator by applying here. Applications for the course will close on Monday 24 July.Apply
